I illustrated the cover for a recent audiobook adaption of the classic EC Comics title, “Vault Of Horror“.
A similar inversion of my work by another artist was used instead. Here is my original composition and art.
• The logo box was created from scratch, with corrected kerning.
• #40 was the final issue of Vault (1953), so this is #41.
• The main art is watercolor, emulating the spotty saturation of photos printed on pulp paper.
• The infinity comic imitates the dots of Silver Age color printing.
• My signature is based on famed Vault cover artist, Johnny Craig, whose work can be seen on the VOH volumes in the background.
